Ughhhhh the ending to the last book had me dreading this one but I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly things picked up and got better from that dreadful ending. (I’m being dramatic. I just thought a character wasn’t going to appear much in this book. I was mistaken. Thank the LAWD.)
Yes. I just jumped right into this because I’M NOT OK. ALRIGHT?
My how the turn tables. Things are getting WILD. So much is happening and other storylines are coming to light and adding to the main storyline and I’m just… I’m excited. Maas sure knows how to write a series. The thing about long series like this, in my experience, is they typically fall off at some point. Be it authors being pressured to pump out books, authors getting slammed by editors and told to take stuff out or change things up, or just fatigue from the story itself. I have yet to experience that in the Massverse. She is just a wonderful writer and I will continue to sing her praises. I don’t care how much people start to loathe the series and the author because of how popular and talked about they become. (Starting to feel like a Twilight thing, honestly.) I’ll never stop! Read Sarah J. Maas books! Everyone! I implore you!
I was literally squealing at multiple parts of this book. This book had me giddy like a 16-year-old boy at a Call of Duty midnight release. Like 11-year-old me would’ve been at a N*SYNC concert. I was UNWELL.
Characters evolve and reveal their true selves. The story made me want to vomit multiple times out of horror and excitement in equal measures, the character building keeps getting better and better, and this story… this… story. Will it break me? That’s yet to be seen. This one didn’t end on a cliffhanger I wouldn’t say. We’ve just closed one chapter of the story and are on to the next. And what’s next? The TANDEM READ! I’m so excited. And scared. And nervous excited. My books are tabbed and ready to go, y’all!
I’m so eager to get through ToG to see what happens and I’m even more eager to get to the Crescent City series. I’ve gotta catch up. Although, once I do, I’ll have to wait for future books and that sucks, but for Maas, I’ll put myself through that. I’ll put myself through anything for her apparently.
Then she smiled with every last shred of courage, of desperation, of hope for the glimmer of that glorious future. “Let’s go rattle the stars.”
